Since 1991, Riverwood Chapel has gathered in Kent, Ohio with one mission: to know Jesus, be known, and make Him known. What started as a church plant from The Chapel in Akron has grown into a multigenerational family that serves hundreds of households across Portage and Summit counties.

Scripture anchors the teaching. Honest relationships define the culture. Jesus stays at the center of everything, from the Sunday message to the Monday morning conversation over coffee.

Cole Tawney has served as Lead Pastor for 12 years, and a team of pastors and directors walk alongside this community through every season. Riverwood is led by shepherds who know your name.

Step 1:

Show Up Sunday.

7:45, 9:00, 10:15, or 11:30 AM

Wear what feels comfortable. Grab coffee from Bent Tree Coffee Roasters in the foyer and find a seat.

Step 2:

Let Your Kids Join In.

Check in at the New Families Desk in the foyer. A team member will walk your family to the right classroom. Kids programming runs at 9:00, 10:15, and 11:30 AM for birth through 4th grade. Students in 5th grade and up meet in their own environments.

Step 3:

Take a Next Step.

Stop by the Next Step space in the foyer after the service. Sign up for the Discovery Class, join a Bible Study, or ask a question. Jesus meets people where they are, and so does this church.

    Seasonal Bible studies and classes for men and women offer focused teaching four times a year.
